Sweaty TAS survey crews braved intense heat and dense thickets of thorny brush as they tracked the course of the Spanish Colonial acequia near the site of the mission’s third location. Although Spanish records allude to the friars’ attempts to irrigate the mission’s agricultural fields, the exact location of the acequia and correlated dams along the Guadalupe was not known previously.
