| Extremely well-preserved plains bristlegrass seed head from Hinds Cave, a dry rockshelter on a side canyon of the Pecos River. This specimen was not directly dated, but a charcoal sample from the same excavation unit yielded a radiocarbon date of about A.D. 200 (1800 years ago). Photo by Phil Dering. |
