While living with the Comanche,
Cynthia Ann had fully adopted Indian ways. She married Comanche warrior,
Peta Nokona, and bore two sons and a daughter. After Texas Rangers captured
her and other supposed Indians in a raid on a Comanche hunting camp in 1860,
she went into mourning, fearing her husband was dead and that she would
never see her sons again. This proved to be true. Although she tried several
