| As with Guadalupe tools, a number of Clear Fork bifaces were also recovered at the Morhiss site. Although the morphology of Clear Fork bifaces at Morhiss is variable, this specimen represents the general size and most common shape in the lithic assemblage. The raw material is chert characteristic of the gravel bar and terrace gravel deposits occurring in the lower portion of the Guadalupe River. Compare the bit shape and overall morphology of these implements to Type I shell adzes from the Morhiss site that suggest similar functional capabilities and probable hafting methods. |
