Pottery sherds from the Tortuga Flats site. Native potters fashioned vessels from local clays using bone as a tempering agent. Note the striations in the sherd at lower left, perhaps the result of a potter brushing the clay with a bundle of grass to smooth the coils of clay. TARL collections.
