| Wichita grass house on display at Indian City, Anadarko, Oklahoma. The grass-thatched houses of the Wichita and Caddo are unique among Native Americans. Wichita houses were smaller and not as tall as those of the Caddo, probably because the Caddo lived in the forests where tall thin trees for house posts were easy to find. In historic times, Wichita houses traditionally had two doors, one on the east and one on the west, while Caddo houses had only a single entrance, which often faced east.
