Don Joaqin de Orobio y Bazterra, captain of the Presidio at La Bahia, visits the lower Trinity River area. An Orcoquisac Indian leader insisted on taking Orobio back to his village, described as at the mouth of the Trinity, by canoe. The rest of the Spanish party came overland and camped near the village where they distributed food, tobacco, and trinkets to the Orcoquisacs.
