Artist’s depiction of the interior of a flat-roofed rectangular house at a La Junta village similar to those described by early Spanish visitors. Although somewhat fanciful, the mix of crops (corn and squash/pumpkins) and wild foods (mesquite beans and what could be the leg of a pronghorn antelope) rings true to Spanish accounts and emerging archeological data.
