Cornaline d’Aleppo” trade beads from Feature 64, Burial 4. These compound drawn beads consist of three layers of glass: an inner core of light green glass overlain by a layer of brick red glass, which is in turn covered by a layer of clear glass. This is the third most abundant type of trade beads at Mitchell Ridge. Based on Jeffrey Brain comparative analysis of French trade beads from the 18th-century Trudeau site near the confluence of Red and Mississippi Rivers in present-day eastern Louisiana, these beads have a mean date of A.D. 1727.
