Image of large rim sherd of Goose Creek Plain from Mitchell Ridge.
Large rim sherd of Goose Creek Plain from Mitchell Ridge. This sandy paste ware was the dominate pottery type at the site. This example has two repair holes thought to have been used to mend a cracked pot (a very large jar) and prolong its life a bit longer. There is also charring on the exterior, suggesting that this was a cooking pot. TARL collections.
