| Fiber layers in upper deposits at Baker Cave. This is typical of many of the dry caves in the Lower Pecos. The upper deposits, 2-6 feet thick, are mainly plant fiber from food refuse, bedding, wooden and fiber-tool making, etc. This presents a real problem to the archeologist—what do you keep?
