Back
A fragmentary Late Paleoindian dart point found in the Big Lake bone bed. The two fragments (both faces and cross-section of each shown) do not fit together, but appear to be from the same point. The point was probably broken on impact, presumably when it encountered a bone within one of the bison. The dots show the extent of edge grinding, a characteristic of lanceolate Paleoindian points.
