Chipped stone gunflints for flintlock firearms, likely made by Lipan Apache knappers. The flints were recovered during archeological excavations at the site of Mission San Lorenzo de la Santa Cruz, a Spanish mission for the Lipan on the San Saba River from 1762-1771. Investigations there and other mission sites in Texas indicate native peoples continued traditional practices, such as making chipped stone tools and arrow points, even while growing crops and learning the Christian rituals of the Spanish priests.
