| Corner Tang Bifaces: Both "symbolic" and utilitarian forms are found in Late Archaic sites. The top specimen, found at the Ernest Witte site in a burial context, suggests a ritual or symbolic function because of where it was found and because it appears unused. Other specimens have worn and beveled edges and use breaks, and they are sometimes reworked as drills. Clearly they were used for a variety of tasks. |
