Perforators/Drills Both bifacial and unifacial forms have been found in Late Prehistoric contexts (mostly unifacial) as well as Archaic sites (mostly bifacial and often made on reworked dart points). Some were surely used for drilling or perforating hides, shell, and soft stone, although no modern functional study has been done. Others likely are projectile points that had broken and been resharpened into an unusually narrow shape while still hafted on the shaft. |
