The Landis Project exhibit was written by Mike Quigg, senior archeologist with TRC Environmental Corporation in Austin. TBH Editor Susan Dial created the exhibit, and Heather Smith developed it for the web. A number of researchers also provided technical expertise and these individuals are credited in the sources section below. The project was sponsored and funded by the Bureau of Land Management.  Dr. Signa Larralde, BLM Regional Archeologist, oversaw this program and was open to suggestions and new strategies, and her concern and interest in preserving a piece of the past in the Texas Panhandle is gratefully acknowledged. Natalie Stephensen, Director of the Outdoor Program for the Girl Scouts, helped in organizing the open house sessions, and provided hospitality for the crews during the two field seasons. Special thanks go to two local amateur archeologists, Mr. Rolla Shaller and Mr. Alvin Lynn, of Amarillo, who spent their own time collecting rock samples and documenting various lithic outcrops and sending in samples for use in the INA analysis.

Mike Quigg has a long-held interest in Plains archeology, participating in his first dig as a high school senior in southern Colorado.  He pursued his interest first by obtaining a B.A. degree in anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, with summers spent conducting field work, then with a Masters in archeology from the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  He spent five years with the Archaeology Survey of Alberta, and another five years managing a private cultural resource firm.  He has spent his entire career working in the Plains, from central Alberta to southern Texas, and now has over 20 years experience in Texas. Quigg currently serves as senior staff archeologist for TRC Environmental Corporation.
