Planview of burned rock feature
Planview of burned rock feature in Block A of the Late Archaic period. This lens of burned rock spanned roughly 6 meters (nearly seven yards) and contained a possible central pit as well as several clusters of rocks interpreted as dump locations. Burned rock samples, analyzed for fatty acid residues, indicated that major activity in this feature was plant cooking, and this finding was supported by several other technical analyses.
