Samples of bone-tempered pottery and clay figurine analyzed from the Varga site. The figurine proved to be chemically distinct from the pottery sherds and was apparently made from clay from a non-local source. It may have been a special object carried to the site by one of the campers. At least two of the pots from the Varga site, however, were made from local clays.
